80% growth in Iran’s non-oil exports to ASEAN

(Persia Digest) - Iran’s non-oil exports to the Association of Southeast Asia Nations “ASEAN” had a growth of 80 percent in 2017 as compared with a similar period last year. 

As reported by Persia Digest, in 2017 Iran had more than USD 1280MM of non-oil exports to ASEAN member countries. In 2016, this figure stood at USD 711MM. Showing an 80% growth in Iran’s non-oil exports to ASEAN as compared with the year before that.

Also in 2017, Iran’s imports from ASEAN countries totaled USD1.34 BN.

The most important exports of Iran to ASEAN countries included: Steel, butane gas, propane, pistachios, and figs.

Iran’s imports from ASEAN countries included: Sugarcane, palm oil, soya, food products, rice, home appliances, compact MDF (medium density fiberboard), and cell phones.

The Association of Southeast Asia Nations “ASEAN” is a political-economic organization of countries: Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, the Philippines, Myanmar (formerly Burma), Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, and Singapore, and covers a total population of 600 million people.
