Minister of Science, Research and Technology announced that the exports of Iranian knowledge-based companies were worth one hundred million dollars in 2014 and 2015.
According to Persia Digest, in the ceremony celebrating the winners of the thirtieth International Kharazmi Festival, Dr. Mohammad Farhadi said that Iran is ranked 16th in Scopus and ISI databases and ranks first in the region and the Muslim world.
Emphasizing that 14 Iranian universities are on the list of the world's top and influential universities based on Leiden classification, Farhadi said that 200 Iranian scientists are listed among the world’s top one percent scientists.
The minister also stated that, while the global scientific growth has been reported as 6% in 2015 compared to 2014, this percentage is 17.5% for Iran, which is remarkable.
Farhadi added that currently, about 1000 Iranian knowledge-based companies are functioning in 39 science and technology parks and they have exported $100 million worth of products in 2014 and 2015.
Stating that 235 Iranian research projects are currently underway with prestigious international universities, he explained this has increased the number of Iranian articles published in collaboration with international scientists by 5% in 2016 compared to 2015.
Farhadi added that based on the Global Innovation Index, Iran’s status rose by 28 ranks in 2016 compared to 2015.
