(Persia Digest) – A bust sculpture of Master Shajarian by Amir Bagheri, sculptor and painter, has been unveiled next to Abol-Hassan Kharaghani Mausoleum at the annual Hafez Lovers Conference.
The annual Hafez Lovers Conference takes place nationwide with figures from the world of the arts and culture at the Abol-Hassan Kharaghani Mausoleum, located on a hill north of Kharagan village, 24kms from its nearest city Shahrud.
Master Mohammad-Reza Shajarian’s bust sculpture, the renowned Iranian vocalist of traditional Persian song, was delivered by his family’s representative to Dr Majid Pazuki, Secretary to the Association of Hafez Lovers annual conference in Shahrud. The sculpture will be presented to Shajarian’s son, Homayoun, in the near future. The conference was entertained by the setar playing of Keivan Saket, accompanied by vocalist Fazel Jamshidi, singing the famous song “Morgh-e Sahar” in a singalong with the people.
The Association of Hafez Lovers officially began work in 2003 on the commemoration day of the 14th-century poet, Hafez, in Shiraz. Presently, apart from Shiraz, it has branches in Tehran, Qom, Mashhad, Bushehr, Amol, Shahrud, Isfahan, Arak, Babol, Gorgan, Delijan, Sanandaj, Ghaem Shahr, Kerman, and Yazd. It is active mainly in research and the arts and culture.
