(Persia Digest) – Archaeologists believe the architectural structure discovered in Tepe Nad-Alibeg in the second season of excavations dates back to the 5th millennium BCE.

Tepe Nad-Alibeg is located to the southwest of Sanghar town in Kermanshah Province, near the Jamishan river bank.

Following the construction of Jamishan Dam over the river, the tepe faced destruction. This led to the first season of research in 2016 and speculations on the ancient layers and cultural continuation of the area.

The second season of excavations in this site took place in an area measuring 8x10 meters in the southwest of the tepe to study its architectural period.

The finds so far include different phases of construction, remains of residential units, and a significant number of pottery pieces from the Copper Age and Middle Stone Age of the 5th millennium BCE.

The potteries are monochrome, polychrome, Dalma, Dalma Obeid, pressed, and BOB.

With the architectural remains and variety of pottery found here, it is likely that this place dates back to the 5th millennium BCE.
