(Persia Digest) – Iran’s Minister of Petroleum has said that talks with his Indian counterpart were focused on Indian imports of oil from Iran and Farzad B gas field, and added: “Outstanding issues pertaining to the Farzad B oil field between Iran and India have also been resolved.”
Persia Digest reports that some issues had arisen between the two countries regarding the development of this oil field. But, these have now been resolved according to the Iranian Minister of Petroleum, Bijan Zangeneh.
Zangeneh went on to say that Indian companies are interested in developing certain gas and oil fields in Iran, and added: “The Indian proposal will be presented to Iran within the next two months.”
Farzad B is a rich gas field in an area known as the Farsi Block, to the west of North Pars field and northwest of Golshan and Ferdows fields in the Persian Gulf.
A preliminary contract for the exploration and development of Farzad B has already been signed by a consortium of India's state-owned company dating back to the year 2000. But, this was only implemented in exploration and no steps were taken in development and recovery of the gas field.
