(Persia Digest) – Speaking about the meeting between Donald Trump and Kim Jong-Un, the spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, Bahram Ghassemi, said: “We would like to see peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and welcome any steps taken towards a better life for its people. But, taking into account our experiences with the US, its background, and the person of Mr Trump who has left many international deals, including the JCPOA, we are watching his behavior and that of America rather pessimistically at. We cannot be optimistic.”

He added: “N Korea must act carefully; because, the nature of the US Administration is not one we can be optimistic about. We wholeheartedly support peace, stability, and prosperity for the people of the Korean Peninsula, but have serious doubts about the US.”

Persia Digest reports that the landmark meeting between Trump and Un took place in the Capela Hotel on Sentosa Island in Singapore.
