Iranian animations shine in Russia and Bulgaria

(Persia Digest) - Iranian animation makers have an active presence in global festivals these days. The animation "The Bystander" made by Sheyda Kashi is the finalist of the Russian animation festival, and "Pet Man," won the Best Environmental Animation award in Bulgaria.

"Pet Man," by Marzieh Abrarpaydar won the Best Environmental Animation in Bulgaria. The Golden Kuker International Animation Festival was held from 17 to 23 May in Sofia, Bulgaria. Two Iranian films, including "OBC score 05" by Amin Haghasheni won the Best Super Short Film (about one minute), and "Pet Man" by Marzieh Abrarpaydar won the Best Environmental Animation.

"The Bystander" by Sheyda Kashi was also the finalist of the World Light Festival 2018. The festival is one of the largest youth film festivals in Russia, with over 25,000 young filmmakers from more than 30 countries participating in the last 7 years.

The competition is held in 2 sections: A and B, the first for children's film studios and the second for people aged 18 to 35. This festival will take place from 23 to 27 May 2018.
