(Persia Digest) – Iranian short film “Lunchtime” wins the 2017 Asian American International Film Festival (AAIFF), while four other Iranian films will be screened at the 16th Third Eye Film Festival in India.
“Lunchtime”, directed by Alireza Qassemi, was nominated for the Palme d’Or at Cannes Festival and screened at 11 international festivals approved by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS). It won the best docufiction award at its latest showing at the 2017 Asian American International Film Festival. The film is about a young girl who has to face her mother’s body at the forensics morgue.
The 16th Third Eye Film Festival in India will also screen four films from Iran end-December. These are “Mina’s Options” by Kamal Tabrizi, “Bench Cinema” by Mohammad Rahmanian, “Cyanide” by Behrouz Shoeibi, and “Soyuq” by Ark Brothers (Bahman & Bahram).
Seven short fiction films from Iran will also be at the Festival from 21-28 December 2017.
