(Persia digest)- The Deputy for Handicrafts and Traditional Arts at the Iran Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization named the countries of Iraq, Afghanistan, and the neighboring countries to the north of Iran as the regular customers of hand art in Iran.
According to IRNA New Agency, Bahman Namvar Motlagh went on to say that the neighboring countries were interested in the practical usage of our handmade arts. Iraq, per say, uses earthenware and pottery, and objects made of glass that can be used in everyday life; European and American countries, on the other hand, use these mainly as decorative arts.
He reiterated: ‘Iraq, Afghanistan, and neighboring countries to the north, are our biggest clients, followed by European, American, and East Asian countries.’
Namvar Motlagh pointed out the growing sales figures and said the sales of handicrafts has had over a 20% annual rise in the 11th Government and this figure reached around 35% last year.
