(Persia Digest) – More often than not, great composers and musicians are heard but not seen. Perhaps the idea of exhibiting their faces from beyond their instruments is a good one. Forugh Bahmanpur has organized a photography exhibition of contemporary masters of music from Persian speaking countries of Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan at the 1st Persian Speakers of Europe Art Festival which is being staged by Persiana Arts & Culture Society in January 2018.
The event is being organized by Forugh Bahmanpur, researcher and photographer, who has spent twenty years collecting previously unseen images from Persian speaking music masters and vocalists of Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan. It is a collection of 5000 photos most of which have not been exhibited to date.
The 1st Persian Speakers of Europe Art Festival happening in Paris aims to promote the Persian language and literature far from all political and religious dividing lines and usher in lasting ties among Persian speaking artists living in their countries and those who have moved away. The participants must be residents of Europe and can submit works in photography, caricature, animation, dubbing, singing, and stand-up comedy shows.
