(Persia Digest) - The Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran has given its vote of confidence to Hassan Rouhani's proposed ministers for the ministries of energy and science, completing the 12th government’s cabinet.
While the two ministries of energy and science had so far been headed by supervisors, today Mansour Gholami was elected with 180 votes in favor, 82 against and 14 abstentions from a total of 276 votes as the Minister of Science, Research and Technology of the 12th government.
Also, Reza Ardakaniyan was elected with 225 votes in favor, 38 against and 13 abstentions from a total of 276 votes as the Minister of Energy. Hassan Rouhani defended his proposed ministers in the parliament today. Representatives voiced their agreements and disagreements and the votes were cast.
It must be noted that at the start of Hassan Rouhani’s second government, the proposed Energy Minister, Habibollah Bitaraf, did not get a vote of confidence from the MPs and no one was put forward for the Ministry of Science.
