(Persia Digest) - The Russian Energy Minister announced the agreement between Moscow and Tehran to purchase the Sukhoi Superjet 100 airliner to Iran's aviation fleet.
“We discussed the possibility of our Iranian partners to purchase the Sukhoi Superjet 100, and we have outlined a plan to do this”, Alexander Novak stated in a conversation with "Russia 24".
He stated that it was agreed that various Russian transport vehicles would be transferred to Iran, “Today we talked about the delivery of passenger railcars. We have already delivered 1200 wagons and we are planning to add 3,000 other wagons to this fleet in 2018”, he continued.
The Russian Energy Minister also announced that there have been talks on selling more Russian buses, as well as transport vehicles produced by KAMAZ and UAZ, Russian automobile manufacturers, in the meeting.
As per Persia Digest’s report, the Superjet 100 passenger aircraft is a twin-engine airliner with around 110 seats, with production initiated in 2000, and its maiden flight conducted on 19 May 2008.
