Iran-EU Research Cooperation

Iran and the EU intend to expand cooperation between researchers in Iran, the EU, and with the European Research Council, in the landscape of a 2020 Program. At the third high-level meeting between Iran and the European Union, and at the meeting between the Deputy Minister of Science in International Affairs of Iran and Deputy Director General of the European Commission on Research and Innovation, Iran announced its readiness to attract students from Europe.

Physician: Bring the dead back to life!

Recent reports in the media talk of new research findings on death, which show that when the heart stops beating, the brain continues to work; thus, when a person is pronounced dead following a cardiac arrest, they are still able to hear the voices around them and witness their own death so to speak. The research is spearheaded by Iranian-British physician, Dr Sam Parnia.

Sharif honors its genius student

A ceremony was held on 21 November 2017 in honor of Maryam Mirzakhani, the Iranian mathematics genius and only woman winner of the Fields Medal, at her former Sharif University of Technology (SUT). The ceremony was attended by the President’s Deputy of Science and Technology, Surena Sattari, SUT governing board members, scholars, elites, and friends and family of the late Mirzakhani.

Statistics show a 68.5% increase in Iran’s exports to Turkey during the first 11 months of 2017. Iran’s trade representative in Turkey announced: “Exports from Iran to Turkey over the first 11 months of 2017 reached the figure of USD 7BN and 17MM, a growth of 68.5% including oil and gas.”
