(Persia Digest) – In his report to the UN, the IAEA Director General, Yukiya Amano, has once again certified Iran’s compliance with the 2015 nuclear agreement with world powers, officially known as the JCPOA, at the 72nd General Assembly.
EU’s representative at the UN also stressed on the importance of compliance with deal by all parties and asked them to uphold the agreement completely.
The EU representative at the UN said: “The JCPOA is an agreement supported by the UN Resolutions 2231 and 2015. The EU emphasizes once again that the IAEA has already confirmed Iran’s compliance with the deal eight times.”
Iran’s Foreign Minister Javad Zarif, attending The International Conference on Security and Sustainable Development in Central Asia in Samarkand, said: “We welcome EU support for the JCPOA, but more action is required by the EU for its commitments to Iran under the deal. We need to move from verbal support to practical action and exercise pressure for full implementation.”
It must be noted that, at the 72nd UN General Assembly, a large number of countries gathered around the IAEA to express their support for its efforts and support for the JCPOA. The permanent ambassadors from China, Russia, Brazil, Ecuador, Japan, the UAE, Syria, and Cuba were some of the countries announcing their support at the UN General Assembly and expressly thanking Iran for its cooperation with the IAEA.
