(Persia Digest) – China’s third commercial train has pulled into the Incheh Borun border town of Golestan Province on the Iran-Turkmenistan-Kazakhstan railway line.
As reported by Persia Digest, the train was carrying 41 containers. After completing the customs paper works, it left for Tehran on the Gorgan-Tehran line for the customs office in Shahriar, Tehran Province.
Following agreements reached between the top railway officials of Iran and China, one weekly train will now come to Iran via the Incheh Borun corridor and travel to the rest of Iran from there.
Chinese freight trains travel 2700kms across Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan to reach Iran’s border town, and then travel across Iran to other destinations.
Previously, Chinese freight trains entered Iran from the Sarakhs border in Khorasan Razavi. The New Incheh Borun route on the Bazargan border is a faster, more economic route for businessmen.
