(Persia Digest) - After the adoption of a bill to support people with disabilities, they can study at universities across Iran for free.
Based on the bill for the Protection of Disabled Persons, those who qualify can attend higher education centers tuition-free with no age limitations. These centers include those of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, Ministry of Health and Medical Education, Islamic Azad University, and all other state and private centers who receive an annual budget for the project.
Those disabled students who are already enrolled at these universities will no longer have to pay tuition once the bill has been ratified.
Dr Ali-Akbar Velayati, founding member and Head of the Board of Trustees at the Islamic Azad University, and Dr Farhad Rahbar, University President, have supported the bill and announced their readiness to facilitate its implementation at the University.
