Iran Beach Soccer Wins the Persian Cup

Iran's national beach soccer team defeated Spain's beach soccer team to win the title of the second Persian Beach Soccer Cup in Bushehr for the second consecutive year. On the last day of the Persian Cup international tournament, Iran's beach soccer team defeated Spain 4-2 at the Beach Stadium of Bushehr Tourist Village.

Iran wins Karate 1-Premier League

The last Iranian athlete to compete in the Karate 1-Premier Leaguewins gold for its team, to bring the number of medals to seven gold and bronze in the men’s category. The games openedin Paris on Friday,at France’s Pierre de Coubertin sports hall, with 756 karatekas from 81 countries. Iran’s National Team went for two gold and five bronze medals, winning the men’s championships, with an overall third rank in the standings.

Vocalists Selected for the World Cup

The Football Federation of Iran has selected two vocalists to perform a song for the national team for the 2018 World Cup. After Iran’s national team qualified for the World Cup for the fifth time, the Federation officials decided to work with the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance to produce a song for the national team.

Mahdi Taremi joined Qatar’s Al-Gharafa FC

Mahdi Taremi 25, former striker of Persepolis FC in Tehran, joined Qatar Stars League Club, Al-Gharafa. This member of Iran’s national football team since 2015 who had been the top scorer of Iran Premier Football League in two successive seasons, was suspended for four months previously for signing a contract with Rizespor FC of Turkey and later leaving that team; this also brought about a cash fine for Persepolis FC. He has now, finally, joined the Al-Gharafa FC of Qatar.

Iran futsal player among world top 10

Iran’s National Futsal Team player is on Futsal Planet’s list of top ten best players. In 2017, Hossein Tayebi and Kazakhstan Kairat Team reached the championship league, elimination tournament, and super cup of Kazakhstan. In the UEFA Champions League, he stood third with the Kairat Team, and in the AFC Champions League he was one of the reserves who was substituted for Thai Son Nam from Vietnam to win the bronze medal.

Araghchi: All options are on the table

The Foreign Ministry’s Political Deputy said: “We are ready to defend the interests of the IR of Iran against every move by the US President.” Seyed Abbas Araghchi has travelled to Rome to meet with European officials. He added: “The US President is swimming against the tide of international norms. The international community is presently trying to deal with this. We are in close contact with them and will not allow the interests of the IR of Iran to dwindle amid his moves. We are well placed to defend ourselves and are ready to deal with every scenario.”
