Two Iranians competing for the Palme d’Or
The list of films featured in the main sections of the Cannes Festival was announced, and in addition to Asghar Farhadi, who opens the festival with the film "Everyone Knows", Jafar Panahi is also competing with the film "Three Faces" in the competition section for the Palme d’Or.
“Everybody Knows” presold
Asghar Farhadi’s latest film “Everybody Knows” will open the 2018 Cannes Film Festival. It has already been presold to over 20 countries by Memento Pictures. As reported by Variety, Memento Pictures will screen the movie on 9 May, a day after the Cannes Festival opening, in 350 cinema theaters in France. Universal Pictures will follow suit in September in Spain.

“Variety” website announced on Wednesday, 4 April, that the 71st Festival de Cannes 2018 will open with Iranian filmmaker and two-time Oscar winner Asghar Farhadi’s new movie “Everybody knows”.

Two-time Oscar winner, Asghar Farhadi’s new film “Everyone knows” will premiere on 13 September 2018 in cinemas in Argentina. “Everyone knows” is Farhadi’s latest movie, starring Argentinian actor Ricardo Darin.
The “Salesman” competing for BAFTA Award
The 71st BAFTA Awards ceremony will be held in London tonight, 18 February 2018. The “Salesman” and “Elle” are both up for the award with the best odds of winning.

The feature film “Salesman” Directed by two-time Oscar winner Asghar Farhadi has made the list of Best Movies of 2017. The Metacritic website has also chosen “Starless Dreams” as one of the best movies of this year.
Farhadi film 12th most awaited for 2018
Twice Oscar winner Asghar Farhadi’s latest movie “Everybody knows” filmed in Spain has been listed on the 100 most awaited movies of 2018.
The Playlist website has released its top movie list at the end of 2017 for Christmas. Its first five selected features are “Ladybird”, “Dunkirk”, “The Florida Project”, “The Shape of Water”, and “Blade Runner 2049”.
Silk Road success for Iranian films
Over the past week, films from Iran have shined at festivals in the feature and short film categories. “The Salesman” and “Starless Dreams” were chosen as best foreign film and documentary at the Silk Road International Film Festival in China, and the short film “Retouch” and “Run Rostam Run” animation also won best films at festivals in France and Poland.
