It has been customary since ancient times for messengers and town criers to herald in Nowruz and spring with particular traditions. Customary groups of messengers in countries that celebrate Nowruz, especially in Iran, go by names such as “Atash Aruzan”, “Haji Firuz”, “Bi Nowruzak”, “Naneh Nowruz”, “Mama Nowruz”, “Pir Baba”, “Naneh Maryam”, “Kuseh Beranshahan”, “Amu Nowruz”, “Sayachi”, and “Takahmchi”.
Visa on arrival for Iranians traveling to Azerbaijan
The Republic of Azerbaijan has lifted visa requirements for Iranian national as from yesterday, 16 March 2018. All visas will be issued on arrival at the international airports of Azerbaijan. The Iranian Ambassador to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Javad Jahangirzadeh, said: “Following talks between Foreign Minister Javad Zarif of Iran and the President of Azerbaijan Republic, the country’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement informing the Iranian Embassy that visas will be given on arrival at Baku Heydar Aliyev International Airport and other international airports serving Azerbaijan.
Chaharshanbeh Suri - The festival of fire
Iran has had a long tradition of holding festivals, and Chaharshanbeh Suri is one of the ancient Iranian festivals of fire and a prelude to Nowruz. Many Iranian festivals have been forgotten during the course of history, but Chaharshanbeh Suri, on the eve of the last Wednesday of the year, is a night which, according to ancient Iranian rituals, people light a great fire that sometimes burns until dawn. They jump over bonfires and sing “[let] your ruddiness [be] mine, my paleness yours” to give their illnesses, problems and sorrows to the fire, and the fire gives them its warmth and ruddiness instead.

Tabriz a priority for Turkish investors

Iran’s biggest opera performance in Tabriz 2018

Iran and Azerbaijan jointly manufacture automobiles
The commercial attaché of the Iranian Embassy in the Republic of Azerbaijan announced the registration of an automobile manufacturing company jointly produced by the two countries and stated: "We will soon witness the manufacture of five different car models in this joint venture between Iran and Azerbaijan.”

“Helmsman” wins Indian Smile (SIFFCY)
Iranian narrative feature “Helmsman” has won the Best Director Award at the 14th Smile International Film Festival for Children & Youth (SIFFCY) in India.
“Helmsman” directed by Majid Esmaeili Parsa was lined up for the international category of the Youth Festival. The director, together with the producer Javad Gholizadeh, received their awards at the closing ceremony on Friday night, 15 December 2017, in Delhi.
