Ex Israeli minister charged with spying for Iran

The BBC reports that Israel has charged a former cabinet minister with spying for Iran, the Shin Bet internal security service says. Gonen Segev, a medical doctor who served as energy minister in the 1990s, was allegedly recruited by Iranian intelligence while living in Nigeria.

Iranian Prime Minister, Javad Zarif, has posted a tweet addressed to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI): “There are at least 80 nuclear warheads stationed in the Middle East. None are in Iran; rather, they're at the fingertips of a warmonger who howls incessantly about fabricated Iranian “ambitions”. Some time ago, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu sent a video message about the water crisis in Iran, saying: “Israel has the knowledge to stop an environmental crisis in Iran and I want to share this with the people of Iran.” He pointed to the launch of a website and a telegram channel in Persian to fight the water crisis in Iran, and stated: “Israel is with the Iranian people and I want to save the lives of many of them.”

In an analytical report comparing the military capabilities of Iran and Israel, Newsweek wrote: Relations between Israel and Iran are at breaking point. The multinational nuclear deal signed with Iran is on the verge of collapsing—partly thanks to Israeli lobbying against it. Iranian leaders have warned that if it fails, the country will resume its uranium enrichment program, a step Israel considers a threat to its very existence.

Iran among top 10 military powers in Asia

“Business Insider” website has reported that Iran is one of Asia’s top ten military powers. The report is based on statistics from the “Global Firepower” website obtained by comparing 133 countries and 50 indicators to introduce the 25 superior military powers in the world. Thirteen of these are on the Asian Continent.
