Australian Ambassador to Iran recommendations to tourists
The Australian Ambassador to Iran has recommended for all Australian tourists visiting Iran to see the Malek National Museum and Library. Ian Biggs who was visiting the Malek Museum with his spouse on Saturday, 2 June 2018, pointed to the extensive, prominent treasures of historical artifacts in the largest cultural endowment of Iran, and reminded: “This is such an extensive, beautiful collection that I will recommend it to all Australian tourists in Iran.”
Beyzaei and Kiarostami films at the TFT
An Iranian film festival is being staged in California from 28 April to 19 May 2018. Films screened here are “Bashu – the little stranger”, a timeless work by Bahram Beyzaei, and “24 Frames” by Abbas Kiarostami in the out of competition category of the Department of Film, Television and Digital MediaUCLA School of TFT.
Iran National Library joins IFLA on 80th anniversary
Iran’s National Library and Archives celebrated its 80th anniversary by joining the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA). The President of IFLA was invited to the ceremony, where the Encyclopedia of Iran was unveiled together with an application for the Library.
Digitalized Persian manuscripts unveiled
The portal for digitalized Persian manuscripts has been unveiled in Iran by the first Vice President, Eshaq Jahanguiri, Gloria Pérez-Salmerón, President of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), and Ashraf Borujerdi, President of the National Library and Archives Organization of Iran (NLAI).
IFLA president at 80th anniversary of NLI
The commemorative week for the eightieth anniversary of the establishment of the National Library of Iran begins today. Gloria Pérez-Salmerón, president of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), has accepted the invitation of the National Library of Iran, to attend the anniversary’s special program.
Exquisite Christian books exhibited at Christmas
Iran’s National Library has placed its collection of exquisite documents and a Bible manuscript on display for Christmas.
Christmas is celebrated in Iran on 25 December not only by Christians, but Muslims also join them to usher in the New Christian Year. Apart from churches and certain streets in Iran, governments centers also organize Christmas events. This year, the National Library has organized an exhibition of its priceless Bible manuscript and other books on Christianity at its Book and Archives Museum from Christmas Day for two weeks.
Dar Alfnun turns 166
This year, Dar Alfonun university celebrates the 166th anniversary of its establishment; 166 long years of memories and keepsake photos for its students. An exhibition of these has been organized at the Book and Documentaries Museum of Iran to commemorate these 166 years for one month.
