International Workers’ Day
May 1st is International Workers’ Day. This day has always been coupled with marches and workers’ protests in Iran. The Workers' House in Tehran saw the gathering of large numbers of laborers from various vocations today to protest not receiving a license to stage protests and claim their rights, such as insurance and incomes not matching the rising costs of living.
“Deputat” staged on World Theater Day
The play "Deputat", directed by Atabak Naderi, goes on stage at the same time as World Theater Day at Shahrzad Theater multiplex on 27 March. "Deputat", which previously enjoyed a successful show at Shams Hall, once again goes on stage at Shahrzad Theater, with some changes in the cast on Nowruz holidays.
“Macbeth Zār” – An Iranian story on Moscow stage
On 27 March 2018, World Theatre Day, Iranian director Ebrahim Poshtkuhi will be staging “Macbeth Zār” in Moscow. The venue is the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts – GITIS founded in 1878. “Macbeth Zār” has gone to Moscow at the invitation of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory. It is part of a project called “From red apples to the blue seas” managed by Solmaz Hematzadeh in Moscow.
Tehran Electronic Music Festival in March
Tehran Electronic Music Festival will be held on March 3rd at Charsou multiplex with the participation of 14 electronic music bands. Fourteen musical projects will go on stage at Charsou multiplex in Tehran from 3-9 March this year. These performances which are in different formats will host audiences and electronic music fans.
February 11 Revolution march in Iran
The anniversary of the Iranian 1979 Revolution has been celebrated across Iran on 11 February with a large turnout as in previous years.
