AFC messages Persepolis for 2nd consecutive win

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has congratulated the Iranian Persepolis football club for the its second consecutive win on its Instagram page. Persepolis crossed the hurdle of a match with Padideh Club in Tehran yesterday, following a match at the Samen football grounds to win the League Championship title after three games by the end of the season.

Puppeteer, Adel Bozdudeh, is keeping busy these days by designing and making mascots for top Iranian football teams – Persepolis, Esteghlal, and Tractorsazi. He told Mehr News Agency: “These mascots are designed after the larger Persian cats who are on the brink of extinction, called “Karal”. These will be ready for the teams to use as mascots within the next couple of days.”

New artifacts on display in Takht-e Jamshid

In the Iranian New Year Nowruz of 1397 HS [March 2018], thirty-one new objects from the Achaemenid period will go on display in the Takht-e Jamshid Museum. As reported by Khabar-e Jonub, there are currently around 270 Achaemenid objects at the expert Takht-e Jamshid Museum on display for the public; but, the Museum treasures around 5000 objects dating back to the Achaemenid, Sassanid, and Islamic periods.

Mahdi Taremi joined Qatar’s Al-Gharafa FC

Mahdi Taremi 25, former striker of Persepolis FC in Tehran, joined Qatar Stars League Club, Al-Gharafa. This member of Iran’s national football team since 2015 who had been the top scorer of Iran Premier Football League in two successive seasons, was suspended for four months previously for signing a contract with Rizespor FC of Turkey and later leaving that team; this also brought about a cash fine for Persepolis FC. He has now, finally, joined the Al-Gharafa FC of Qatar.
