New artifacts on display in Takht-e Jamshid
In the Iranian New Year Nowruz of 1397 HS [March 2018], thirty-one new objects from the Achaemenid period will go on display in the Takht-e Jamshid Museum. As reported by Khabar-e Jonub, there are currently around 270 Achaemenid objects at the expert Takht-e Jamshid Museum on display for the public; but, the Museum treasures around 5000 objects dating back to the Achaemenid, Sassanid, and Islamic periods.
Mahdi Taremi joined Qatar’s Al-Gharafa FC
Mahdi Taremi 25, former striker of Persepolis FC in Tehran, joined Qatar Stars League Club, Al-Gharafa. This member of Iran’s national football team since 2015 who had been the top scorer of Iran Premier Football League in two successive seasons, was suspended for four months previously for signing a contract with Rizespor FC of Turkey and later leaving that team; this also brought about a cash fine for Persepolis FC. He has now, finally, joined the Al-Gharafa FC of Qatar.

An archaeologist has named six main colors that were used in Persepolis, and said: “For instance, the color red was used in the back of the teeth of lions and bulls’ column capitals.”

Euros 250MM donates by Italian for Persepolis
Shiraz University President has announced that an Italian benevolent person will donate euros 250MM for the revival of “Tall-e Ajori” gate in Persepolis, and added: “Over the past decade, “Tall-e Ajori” gate has been studied in collaboration with Bologna University.”
Greeks inspired by Persepolis architecture
At a meeting with the Head of Cultural Heritage and Tourism Research Center of Iran Seyed Mohammad Beheshti, Alec Ryzhkov Russian Deputy Minister of Culture said the Greeks had been inspired by the architecture of Persepolis in Iran.
In this meeting, which took place at the Union of Russian Architects, Ryzhkov said about Persian architecture: “The Persian style of architecture preceded that of Greece, which was then inspired by Persian architecture.”
New discovery in Persepolis
The seventh season of archaeological excavations in the brickwork area of Takht-e Jamshid [Persepolis] have revealed that the design and plan of the newly discovered gate is based on the design and built of the Babylonian Ishtar Gate.
These excavations are aimed at studying the central room and extension wall of the building on the northeastern corner of the gate.

“Travel to Persia” photo Exhibition in Spain
