Levon Haftvan remembered in Canada
A commemoration ceremony will be held for the late Levon Haftvan by screening his movie “Kupal” at the Phoenix Cultural Center of Toronto. The Phoenix Cultural Center is managed by Amir Ganjavi. The late Levon Haftvan will be remembered at the Center on 18 March with the screening of “Kupal” at the Regent Theater Toronto. The film is directed by Kazem Molayi, starring Levon Haftvan.
Who will be the winner of a Saudi-Iran war?
A Canadian paper has published an article entitled “The signs that Iran and Saudi Arabia preparing for war”, writing “The Islamic rivals are already battling indirectly in several countries.” The Toronto Star column says: “The growing rivalry between the region’s most powerful countries — Iran and Saudi Arabia — will be what triggers the world’s next catastrophic war.” The paper writes that the main showdown in the Middle East is between Saudi Arabia and Iran over who controls the region and asks the question of who will be the winner of such a war.

According to Farabi Cinema Foundation, the films “Runaway” directed by Alireza Davudnejad, “Subdued” by Hamid Nematollah, “No Date, No Signature” by Vanid Jalilvand, “Negar” by Rambod Javan, “Sara and Ayda” by Maziar Miri, “Blockage” by Mohsen Gharaei, “Untaken Paths” by Tahmineh Milani, “Azar” by Mohammad Hamze’ei, “Yellow” by Mostafa Taghizadeh, “Appendix” by Hossein Namazi, “Boarding Pass” by Mehdi Rahmani, “Esrafil” by Aida Panahi, and “Kupal” by Kazem Molaei will be competing at the 3rd Cine Iran Film Festival in Toronto.

The 3rd CineIran Festival in Canada ran from 17-19 November 2017 in two different venues - TIFF Bell Lightbox and Art Gallery of Ontario - screening twelve films from Iran.
