(Persia Digest) – The 17-year old Taekwondo fighter, Mahla Momenzadeh, has reached the World Taekwondo Championships final to become Iran’s second woman finalist in the history of its game.
The 5-day 2019 Manchester World Taekwondo Championships kicked off in Manchester, UK, on Wednesday with 975 fighters from 150 countries.
On the first day, Mahla Momenzadeh competing in the -46kg category beat Kazakh opponent 21-1. In the next stages, she beat her British opponent 17-7, Russian opponent 20-3, Croat opponent 30-20, and Chinese opponent 11-9 to make history and reach the final.

After Kimia Alizadeh who won silver in the previous WT games, Momenzadeh is now the second woman finalist in the history of the games in her country.
She will be fighting her S Korean and Thai opponents on Thursday afternoon for gold.
Momenzadeh has the World and Asian Taekwondo championships in her portfolio for the junior age category. She is now experiencing her debut in the adult category.
