(Persia Digest) – Wherever you are in the world, all you have to do from now on is visit the virtual space of historical-artistic carpet museum of Iran to see the oldest Persian carpet antiques in the world.
Iran’s first such website will be inaugurated during its cultural heritage week tomorrow, 18 May 2018.
Shokufeh Mesbahi who is in charge of research and carpet restoration at the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization research institute, said: “This museum will allow curators to use new documentation methods to introduce works of art and display the carpets away from restrictions imposed by exhibition spaces and transportation. More people can now see these and researchers have easy access for their work.”
The website will be open to the public. It has been set up with the endeavors of the Cultural Heritage research institute, ICOM Iran, Iran Carpet Museum, Golestan Palace cultural complex, Niavaran Palace cultural complex, and Tehran Handicrafts Organization.
