During the years he spent away from the court, he drew paintings reflecting his life and environs, such as paintings about the daily lives of men or dervishes. This had totally changed his style of work by the time he returned to the court. The “Seated youth” is a piece of work from his second period of works at the court, created at a time when he was probably not so interested in the razzmatazz of court life. In addition to have many fans, this is one of the most romantic Iranian paintings up for bidding at the auction.
