(Persia Digest) – The 3rd Arts Bazaar is being held simultaneously in Tehran, Mashhad, and Ahvaz this year. An estimated 3200 pieces of work created by 532 artists at a unit price of tomans 900 thousand will be on sale over these last days of the Iranian calendar.
The Arts Bazaar is organized by the Office of Visual Arts of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and the Contemporary Visual Arts Development Institute. Its previous two editions took place in Tehran. The first edition was in October 2016 at the Artists Forum, where the pieces were sold at the unit price of tomans 500 thousand. The second edition took place in August 2017 also at the Artists Forum, with the unit price set at tomans 750 thousand. The current and 3rd edition is being organized in the three cities of Tehran, Mashhad, and Ahvaz.
Ahvaz will also inaugurate its Visual Arts Gallery together with the Arts Bazaar on 14 March. The Gallery will place 336 works by 100 artists on sale. The Arts Bazaar in Tehran will also run from 14-16 March with 426 works by 165 artists in all the galleries at the Artists Forum. The Arts Bazaar in Mashhad was held from1-6 March with 330 works by 104 artists at the Charsugh Gallery.
Around 3200 works by 532 artists were submitted to the Secretariat of the Arts Bazaar. All the works are priced at tomans 900 thousand each. The Bazaar curator, Jamshid Haghighat-Shenass, has announced that the size of the works will not affect their price.
