Beiranvand auctions gloves that caught Ronaldo’s penalty kick for flood victims

(Persia Digest) – Team Melli and Persepolis Club goalkeeper, Alireza Beiranvand, is auctioning the gloves with which he caught Ronaldo’s penalty kick at the 2018 World Cup in the match against Portugal to help the flood victims in Iran.

Beiranvand said: “The Nowruz New Year of 1398 [Spring 2019] got off to a bad start for my compatriots and my province. Sadly, lives were lost; many houses were destroyed and the people have nowhere to live.”

Team Melli’s goalkeeper said he would do anything to help the flood victims, adding: “I will auction the gloves and boots I wore at the 2018 World Cup against Portugal. These are very precious to me.”

Persia Digest (PD) reports that torrential rains and floods have caused havoc and extensive damages in most Iranian provinces over the past four weeks. More than 70 people have lost their lives.
