(Persia Digest) –Iran-China Chamber of Commerce Vice-Chairman has announced China’s decision to reopen the bank accounts of Iranians which had been blocked, and stated: “The Iranian Consulate in Shanghai has also made an official announcement in this respect.”
Majid-Reza Hariri added: “ABC bank in China has made a public call to Iranians whose accounts had been blocked in recent months and asked them to open new accounts in banks.”
He continued: “The Iranian Consulate in Shanghai has also made an official announcement regarding the matter. This step taken by China indicates a reversal of misunderstandings and we hope the trend will continue.”
As reported by Persia Digest, a number of Chinese banks, including ABC, ICBC, and Merchant Bank had blocked accounts belonging to Iranians, creating difficulties for the country’s businessmen and students.
