(Persia Digest) – Qajar paintings from Golestan Palace will be taken to the Louvre for viewing by the public. These works are currently being restored by the Institute for the Protection and Restoration of Historic Monuments of Iran.

The Qajar collection will travel to the Louvre in Paris towards the end of spring this year. It comprises three large pieces of a painting of Fathali Shah’s saluting the guard measuring 37 meters – one of the world’s largest – and three smaller paintings on canvas by Kamal ol-Molk and Mosavar ol-Molk. Two paintings by Nasser-e-Din Shah are also part of this collection.
