(Persia Digest) Social media users in Qatar and the Persian Gulf states have started a hashtag #ادعم_علاقه- قطر_بایران supporting the expansion of ties between Iran and Qatar and calling Tehran a better friend for the people of Qatar than the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Social media users also criticized the negative stances of Saudi Arabia and the UAE against Tehran-Doha ties.

The hashtag started after the Iranian President and Emir of Qatar held a phone conversation last Monday, stressing on expanding ties between the two countries in all respects.

Following this, social media users in Qatar and other Persian Gulf states started the hashtag in support of ties between Iran and Qatar as an answer to this Emarati official.

Tweeter user, Al Kaabi, wrote: “Iran is our friend and neighbor. Iran deserves to be called honorable. Iran is certainly closer to us (Qatar) than the Saudis, UAE, and Bahrain.

Another Tweeter user, Hama Al Sahab, posted: “Nothing will stop relations with Iran. Let’s remember Iran’s support for us during the embargo people.”

Another user, Khaled, asks the government of Qatar to provide the necessary grounds for the development of trade relations between the two countries and the arrival of Iranian doctors and engineers in Qatar.

Another user called Raghda calls Iran a friend and ally of Qatar, and tweets: “Actions taken by the Iranian government show this friendship and alliance.”
