(Persia Digest) – “Invisible Cities" directed by Pino di Buduo, is an offstage performance from Italy which will be shown at the 36th Fajr Theater Festival in Tehran.

This is an artistic interdisciplinary multimedia project which has begun practicing in Tehran with the help of the Italian Embassy here in order to get ready for its performance at the Fajr Festival. The performance has been going round cities such as London, Paris, Rome, and Budapest since 1991. It has now come to Tehran at the invitation of Fajr International Theater Festival offstage section with the help of the Italian Embassy in Tehran.

“Invisible Cities" director renowned Italian Pino di Buduo is currently visiting Tehran to coordinate the project and begin a practice run in the capital.

The play is based on a novel by the same name by contemporary Italian author Italo Calvino, aiming to rediscover the cultural identity of cities and their connection to people. The city is the scene of the play and the scenario unfolds in accordance with its urban spaces to encounter the living personality of the place.

Contemporary Tehran is a dynamic city with the potential for this type of encounter. Its lively metabolism makes it an especially suitable ground for this massive project.
