(Persia Digest) – Chinese customs has announced that trade relations between this country and Iran has grown by 24% in the first eight months of 2017 to reach over USD 24BN.
The report indicates that trade between the two countries from January to August 2016 was over USD 19.5 BN. This has jumped up to USD 24.17BN over the same period in 2017, showing an increase of 18.1%.
Chinese exports to Iran from January to August 2017 increased by 18.1% as compared to a similar period last year, reaching USD 12.04BN. China also exported goods worth over USD 10.2BN to Iran over a similar period last year.
Chinese imports from Iran also increased significantly. In the first eight months of 2016, China imports from Iran amounted to over USD 9.3BN. This figure increased by 30% in the first eight months of 2017 to reach USD 12.13BN. Oil is the main import of China from Iran.
