(Persia Digest) – Iran and Holland have signed two MoUs at the second Joint Agricultural Committee meeting held Wednesday through Friday inclusive in the Hague.
The meeting was attended by top managers of Iran’s Ministry of Agriculture, headed by the Minister’s Deputy, Eskandar-Zand. The Dutch government hosted the event 2-4 May in the Hague.
In their talks with the Dutch Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Deputy of Wageningen University, the Iranian delegation reached comprehensive decisions in the fields of research, professional training, joint investment, marketing of agricultural produce, and agricultural soil water management.
The agreement signed between Iran and Wageningen UR includes practical training and enhanced productivity in the cultivation of potatoes, saline soils, fisheries, food security, and the promotion of agricultural research.
The Deputy Ministers for Iran and Holland also emphasized the need for joint cooperation on animal husbandry, soil and water management, saline soil management, greenhouse farming, potato crops, genetic resources, fisheries, dairy products, trade of produce, professional training, and joint research.
The Joint Agricultural Committee for Iran and Holland was set up in 2016 with an agreement signed between the agriculture and economic ministers of both countries.
