(Persia Digest) – In a response to the closing statement issued by the Arab Summit, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Bahram Ghassemi, stressed on the Islamic Republic of Iran's permanent policy of non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries, and said: “Iran expects regional countries to maintain mutual respect and non-interference in each other's affairs and stop beating the drum of alleged claims and accusations, in order to place realism, interaction, reflection, logic, dialogue, goodwill, and foresight on their priority list of policies for confidence-building, stability, and a halt to creating unnecessary concerns.”
He added: “This statement, like the previous ones, is a repetition of false claims against the IR of Iran, once again overlooking the real facts behind the regional crises and preferring the deviation to the path itself.”
He reiterated that the Greater and Lesser Tunbs and Abu Musa Island in the Persia Gulf belonged to Iran and strongly denounced the malignant efforts of certain neighboring countries in the south to forge names for the islands and repeat their unfounded claims as “carrying water in a sieve”, redundant, and interference in the affairs of Iran.
Persia Digest reports that the 29th Arab League Summit wrapped up on Sunday night in Dhahran with an anti-Iranian statement. The League said the dispatch of missiles to the Houthis by Iran must stop and accused Iran of ignoring International laws. The Statement read: “The Arab League supports ownership claims by the UAE over the Greater and Lesser Tunbs and Abu Musa Island and calls on Iran to engage in direct talks with the UAE or refer the case to international jurisdiction.”
