(Persia Digest) – Iran’s Wushu team for students has won four gold medals to become champions in the Wushu Sanda category of the FISU championships. They were runners-up in the Sanda and Talou categories in total.
2018 FISU World University Wushu Championship kicked off on Thursday with 250 athletes from 26 countries in Macau, China, and wrapped up at noon on Sunday.
On the final day of the competitions, four Iranian Wushu Sanda athletes who had made it to the finals of the games in both women’s and men’s categories of different weights all won over their rivals to get four gold medals.

The Iranian team went on to become world runners-up in the Sanda and Talou categories together.
This is the first time Iran’s student team has reached this impressive rank at the FISU World University Wushu Championships.
China won the championship with 6 gold, Iran came second with 4 gold, Malaysia was third with 3 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze medals.
