Iranian cheetahs ready to defeat Chinese dragons

(Persia Digest) – Iran’s Team Melli will be playing China in the AFC quarterfinals at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi tonight at 19h30 hours Tehran time.

Team Melli beat Oman 2-0 in the knockout stage and China won Thailand 2-1. Marcello Lippi is coaching the Chinese team.

Iran is one of the teams likely to win the Cup at the 17th AFC Asian Cup which kicked off on 5 January 2019 in the UAE.

No goals were scored against Iran in the previous elimination playoffs and round of 16 and it has high hopes of continuing its record.

Speaking at a press conference before the match with China, Team Melli coach, Carlos Queiroz, said: “Meeting with China is a new adventure for us and we will do our best to succeed.”

He continued: “This is our most important game. China has a great team and a greater coach. But we are keeping our hopes high to reach our goals.”
