(Persia Digest) – One of the most important questions on the minds of tourists interested in traveling to the Orient, especially to Middle Eastern countries, is whether these are safe destinations. Iran is a special country with a wide range of natural and cultural attractions. Its high, barely seen tourism potentials make it a perfect destination for tourists.
What makes Iran even more reachable is the low value of its currency, namely the exchange rate of the rial against other world currencies. But the ever-present question in the minds of tourists remains the same – whether this beautiful country is a safe destination? There is much negative media reporting on Iranian politics and Iranophobia worldwide, making it easy for tourists to forget that all these arguments take place among governments and not their people.

A recent visitor speaks of his Iran experience, saying: “My wife and I holidayed in Iran for a fortnight and I can honestly say that this is one of the world’s safest countries we’ve been to. The only trouble was Tehran’s traffic which is maddening! Iranians are the most hospitable people we’ve met until now; we were unable to accept all their invitations due to a lack of time.”
Another tourist visiting Iran had this to say after his visit: “I traveled to Iran for the first time in 2012. While other people who had been there before advised me that this is a very safe country and people are very welcoming in every way, the media called it the most dangerous place on earth. But I saw for myself on my trip that this was all anti-Iranian propaganda; none of it was true and you must forget about them when going to Iran.”
Anyone can safely travel to Iran and experience its reality first hand. What the media reports on Iran – especially the US media – is fake news. Do not miss out on this ancient land’s culture and civilization of thousands of years, to be enjoyed in the company of its hospitable people.
