(Persia Digest) – At a meeting with the delegation of Japanese investors on planning a Japanese garden, the Mayor of Rasht metropolis stated: “The lush landscape of Rasht has already been introduced on an international level and planning a garden here is welcomed by the city officials.”
Massoud Nosrati pointed to the annual influx of 36 million tourists to Guilan Province, and said: “This province has the highest rate of visitors. Without doubt, having a Japanese garden to visit would be most valuable for all of us.’
The Mayor of Rasht said all parties were ready to implement the project, and reminded: “We also hope to witness academic, agricultural, and industrial exchanges between our two countries in the future.”
He also pointed out to the registration of Rasht as a Unesco Creative City of Gastronomy in 2015, and continued: “Rasht is one of 25 world gastronomic cities. It has over 170 types of food and it is recommended that two traditional Rashti and Japanese restaurants also be launched in the park.”
At the meeting, the Chief of NICE also said he was proud to be building a Japanese garden in Rasht.
Toshio Ishigami said: “This project is a first of its kind in Iran and the first voluntary work between Iran and Japan.”
He continued: “Once all the administrative work has been sorted, the volunteer for the project will travel to Rasht in July.”
