My Mother Iran performed in Antalya

(Persia Digest) – Iranian composer and conductor, Ali Rahbari, has staged his symphonic poem “My Mother Iran” in Turkey.

The concert was performed in Antalya on Friday by the Antalya State Symphonic Orchestra who had also extended an official invitation to Hossein Alizadeh to go to Turkey.

In a speech for the Turkish music lovers and erudite, Alizadeh said: “Ali Rahbari is a world renowned Iranian musician whose art has sadly not been appreciated properly in his motherland.”

The symphonic poem “My Mother Iran” has been arranged in seven movements based on the poems of 13th-century Persian poet Sa’di of Shiraz and contemporary poet Mohammad-Farid Nasseri. The vocalist is Mohammad Motamedi, and the Iranian musicians of the orchestra included members such as Milad Omranlou, Mehrdad Alemi, Barbod Bayat (program director and assistant conductor), and Reza Fekri (reserve tenor).

Different parts of the symphonic poem “My Mother Iran” has been dedicated to different known faces of Iranian music, such as Rouhollah Khaleghi, Mohammad-Reza Shajarian, Mostafa Kamal-Pourtorab, Hossein Dehlavi, Hossein Alizadeh, and Hamdam Rahbari (Ali Rahbari’s mother).
