(Persia Digest) – Thirty-two Iranian artists are participating at the 82nd International Handicrafts Trade Fair (Mostra Internazionale dell'Artigianato), 21 April – 1 May 2018 in Florence, at the Fortezza da Basso venue.
Iran’s stand at the expo is a showcase of the hand arts by the artisans of Tehran, Isfahan, South Khorasan, Razavi Khorasan, Kermanshah, Hormozgan, Qeshm Island, Khuzestan, Zanjan, and Golestan.
The categories include jewelry, gabbeh, needlework, kilim, precious stones, traditional jewelry, jajim, handwoven textiles, Turkmen rugs, glassware, terracotta pottery, painting on glass, folk costumes, leatherwork, inlay works, copper beating, miniatures, shellcraft, wood carving, wood paintings, whicker, filigree, copperworks, marquetry, ring making, and papier mâché.
The 82nd International Handicrafts Trade Fair is hosting 800 handicrafts companies and tens of artists from fifty countries. It has also made provisions to discuss the sale and promotion of the hand arts.
Kurdish music will also be performed at the Iran stand.
This is the oldest handicrafts expo in the world, always endeavoring to include the traditional arts in the shape of practical tools in everyday lives.
The Artigianato in Florence will not only showcase handicrafts from around the world, it also includes categories for graphic and interior design, herbal medicines, local gifts, and local foods.
