(Persia Digest) - Farhad Fakhreddini, member of the Supreme Council of the Iranian Music House, has announced the news of an MoU signed between Iran and Kazakhstan for an orchestra exchange program.
As reported by IRNA News Agency, the Minister of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan visited Iran to sign an MoU for cultural and artistic cooperation between the two countries. Farhad Fakhreddini, the founder of the National Iranian Music Orchestra has also traveled to Kazakhstan to meet and talk with this country’s orchestras.
According to Fakhreddini, talks have been conducted with Saken Abdolrahmanov, the head of Kazakhstan Philharmonic Orchestra and an MoU signed for mutual programs between the two.
Fakhreddini stated: “Following the signature of this MoU, a delegation of nine members, including the Symphony, Philharmonic, and National orchestra conductors, will travel to Iran and stage programs at the Niavaran Cultural Center for the Yalda winter solstice.”
He pointed out to the trip of the Iranian delegation to Kazakhstan planned for next April and stated: “Following our agreement, Kazakhstan will invite a national and a folk orchestra from Iran with their conductors to hold their concerts there.”
Fakhreddini explained that the music of Kazakhstan has common roots with a part of Iranian traditional music: “Much of the music from Kazakhstan can be heard in the music of Khorasan and Turkmenistan.”
