(Persia Digest) – In an interview with The Week Magazine Penelope Cruz has said about Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi: “I believe Farhadi is a genius and we can learn many things from him.”
The Spanish actress went on to say: “He is a genius and I can’t wait to get back on the set of “Everybody Knows”. He puts in the time to extract the truth from every single scene.”
Cruz has recently played in “Murder on the Orient Express”; she announced that the filming for “Everybody Knows” will conclude end of November.
“Everybody Knows” is Farhadi’s new movie. Not much has been given away about the script, but it is known that prominent artists such as Cruz, Bardem, and Darin star in it.
Asghar Farhadi is a two-time Oscar winner for his movies “A Separation” and “The Salesman”. As for his movie “The Past”, Farhadi initially wrote the script for his new project in Persian and it was then translated into Spanish.
This prominent director has gathered an impressive crew including Alberto Iglesias (Composer), Jose Luis Alcaine (filmmaker), Clara Notari (Production Designer), and Sonia Grande (Costume Designer) for his most awaited film.
Farhadi’s film will premiere in 2018. It is anticipated to open the Cannes Film Festival.
A plot synopsis indicates: “Carolina returns to her hometown from Argentina to visit her family. On this trip meant to be a family reunion, unexpected events are a game changer for her.”
