(Persia Digest) – The feature “Subdued”, directed by Hamid Nematollahi, has won the Best Picture award at the Jounieh International Film Festival in Lebanon. The documentary “Starless dreams” will be screened in the Competition category of the Budapest Film Festival.
Apart from “Subdued”, directed by Hamid Nematollahi, the Competition category of Jounieh International Film Festival, which ran from 17-22 January 2018 in Lebanon, also screened the "Dinoti Family" directed by Alan Minas (Brazil), “Kiss me not” by Ahmad Amer (Egypt), “The birth of death” by Christus Giorgio (Greek), “Ali, the goat and Ibrahim” by Sherif El-Bendary (Egypt), and “Aleppo Flower” by Rida Behi (Tunisia).
The documentary “Starless dreams” will go on the silver screen in the Competition category of the Budapest International Documentary Festival (BIDF) in Hungary.
This is the fourth edition of the BIDF, running from 23-28 January 2018 in Hungary. It is hosting over forty documentary films in its competition category from Italy, Denmark, Poland, Germany, Spain, France, Croatia, Mexico, Holland, Switzerland, Chile, the UK, Austria, the US, and the host country Hungary, among others. Some of the awards won by “Starless dreams” for Mehrad Oskuei are the Berlinale Amnesty International Film Prize, the True/False Grand Prize for 2016 Best Documentary Filmmaker, and Grand Prize and Best Inspiration Award from the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival in the US.
