(Persia Digest) - The 7th Citrus Aurantium Festival has been held in Langarud, northern Iran. The festival aims to raise awareness about the medicinal properties of bitter orange or Citrus Aurantium, attract tourists, promote local traditions, and introduce the capacities of Guilan Province.

Tightrope walking, fireworks, stand-up comedians, folk songs of Guilan, pop music, family games, awarding best gardeners and top athletes and cultural figures of the province, together with fifty stands displaying handicrafts and distillates, etc, were some of the events at the festival which was welcomed by visitors.

Artisans displayed the traditional hand arts of Iran in forty stands alongside local foods.

Persia Digest (PD) reports that bitter orange has medicinal properties. Bitter orange marmalade is anticonvulsant and fortifies the stomach. It is also relaxing and good for the nervous system and anti-stress.
