(Persia Digest) – The Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Khamenei, expressed his deepest sorrows over the killing of innocent civilians in terrorist incidents in Afghanistan, and said: “The US intends to justify its continued presence in the region and establish security for the Zionist regime by moving Daesh terrorists to Afghanistan.”
He pointed out to the Daesh signature on the murder of hundreds of innocent people in recent incidents in Afghanistan, and added: “The same hands who created Daesh to use it as a weapon of oppression and crime against the people of Syria and Iraq, are now moving the terrorists to Afghanistan following defeat in those countries. The recent massacres are the beginning of this plan.”
The Supreme Leader added: “For US-backed terrorists, Shia and Sunni are the same and they target civilians from both faiths.”
He described engaging regional countries in conflicts as the main US policy, and said: “The US does not want peace in this region. It wants the people here to be preoccupied with their misfortunes to forget the conflict with the cruel agent of oppression, the Zionist regime.
Ayatollah Khamenei stated that the next move by the US is to justify its continued presence in the region by creating insecurity, and added: “The Americans are the main cause of insecurity in Afghanistan. The killings that have taken place in this region in the name of religion have been directly or indirectly carried out by American agents. Currently, they are using their own inflicted insecurity and seek to stabilize their presence here for their political and economic goals.”
