(Persia Digest) – The Republic of Azerbaijan has lifted visa requirements for Iranian national as from yesterday, 16 March 2018. All visas will be issued on arrival at the international airports of Azerbaijan.
The Iranian Ambassador to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Javad Jahangirzadeh, said: “Following talks between Foreign Minister Javad Zarif of Iran and the President of Azerbaijan Republic, the country’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement informing the Iranian Embassy that visas will be given on arrival at Baku Heydar Aliyev International Airport and other international airports serving Azerbaijan.
Jahangirzadeh added: “Iranians traveling by air to Azerbaijan are no longer required to go to this country’s embassies and can have visas issued upon arrival at all international airports serving Azerbaijan.”
These airports are situated in the cities of Baku, Ganja, Qabala, and Lankaran.
Persia Digest reports that the Iranian FM had stated on Thursday: “Currently, Iranian nationals require no visas for travel to Turkey and Georgia. Visa requirements will also be lifted soon for holidaymakers going to Azerbaijan.”
