(Persia Digest) – Iran’s Ski Federation officially opened Tochal’s ski slopes last week to the delight of all skiers.
This is the closest resort to Tehran. Adequate snowfall from mid-November led the authorities to open the slopes following final assessments.
Tochal is 3kms from Tajrish district in northern Tehran. It is the country’s tallest measuring 7500 meters and has three cable car lines, three chair lift lines, and one ski lift, competing with global resorts. It has three separate slopes. The first is at the summit, the second one in the western slopes, and the third one is between stations 5-7. The complex is equipped with a tennis club, an archery club, bungee jumping, skating, and paint ball. Other recreations include mountain climbing and hiking.
The Iranian capital has four ski resorts – Tochal, Darband Sar, Ab-Ali, and Shemshak. Over 1000 Iranian men and women athletes are trained in these.
