(Persia Digest) – In response to the statement issued by US President in support of Saudi rulers to clear them of the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, the Iranian Foreign Minister has called this shameful and wrote: “Perhaps we’re also responsible for the California fires?”
Javad Zarif responded to Donald Trump’s anti-Iranian statement by tweeting: “Mr. Trump bizarrely devotes the FIRST paragraph of his shameful statement on Saudi atrocities to accuse IRAN of every sort of malfeasance he can think of. Perhaps we’re also responsible for the California fires, because we didn’t help rake the forests— just like the Finns do?”

Persia Digest (PD) reports that the US President issued a statement on the murder of Jamal Khashoggi, the Saudi journalist and critic, in which he accused Iran of destabilizing the region rather than concerning himself with Saudi crimes. He rejected the intervention of the Saudi crown prince in the murder of this journalist by saying “maybe he did and maybe he didn’t!”

In his tweet, Iran’s top diplomat was referring to the fire that swept through northern California and the inability of the Trump Administration to control it. The fire left over 60 dead and was called the country’s most devastating fire.
In a new gaffe, Trump had said the Finnish Prime Minister told him they rake their forests and the California fire had started because the forests in this area had not been raked. The Finnish Prime Minister rejected this and the Finns are now joking about it on social media and the internet by saying “sustainable Finnish forestry is not based on raking!”
